Hello
Anita is hopelessly addicted to word games and reading mysteries way past her bedtime. She lives with her family on the Florida farm where she grew up and begins each day, peeping out the window to see which wildlife friends might be visiting.
Anita has served as an English and Journalism professor, a freelance journalist, an assistant PreK-12 teacher, and an event designer & producer. In response to the Covid shutdown, she founded and runs a nature wellness retreat and private event venue Bonne et Belle on her family farm to connect people to the healing space of nature.
When she’s not serving as concierge to the farm’s menagerie of chickens, ducks, rabbits, and one surly cat, she authors children’s literature and, as a journalist, she covers travel, lifestyle, and nature wellness.
- Education & Associations
She holds a BS in Journalism from the University of Florida and a MA in English from Georgia Southern University, is certified as a nature therapy guide with the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy, and is the co-Assistant Regional Advisor for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Florida.
